Smashing Pumpkins Will Debut New Songs on Fall Tour

The Smashing Pumpkins will road test new material for their next album Oceania when they go out on tour this October. The band, who currently include band mastermind Billy Corgan along with newer members Jeff Schroeder, Mike Byrne and Nicole Fiorentino, promise to play a mix of hits and deep cuts along with the fresh new songs.

Oceania, the band’s first full record since 2007’s comeback album Zeitgeist, is technically part of the group’s larger 44-song Teargarden by Kaleidyscope project, and is scheduled to come out sometime in early 2011. In the meantime, the band will begin the first stages of an ambitious reissue plan with deluxe repackaged editions of their early classics Gish and Siamese Dream due out later this year.
